3 Peaks Challenge 2016

3 Peakes Team

Following on from our 10th anniversary efforts in 2014, we again took up the challenge of attempting the Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours. On Saturday 3rd July the team set off for Scotland and the extreme challenge before us.

The encounter undertaken that weekend was carried out in the worse weather on record with a combination of continual rain, strong winds, low temperatures and just about every climatic hurdle that could be thrown.

Having set off in full waterproofs the team managed to keep themselves sane and together, but sadly not dry, all the way through to Mount Snowdon at 2am on the Sunday morning.

We were successful in getting all of the team up and down all three of the mountains but sadly the weather had a big impact and our overall time was 27 hours…… aside from completing the challenge the main adjective was achieved and we raised over £3,000 towards Action for Charity which will go towards many fantastic causes. On behalf of all of those involved in the challenge we would like to say a huge thank you, to all of you who were able to donate through Just Giving, thank you so very much. This will make a difference.

At this point the intrepid adventurers have hung up their walking boots and we will be taking a year or two off whilst we consider the next adventure.
